She’s like a musical tornado whipping the band members and the audience into a frenzy, especially when she decides that the audience should also become band members. As she hands out the egg shakers and tambourine, you had better be ready to play and sing your heart out.
Kocoa has a unique sound, fusing jazz, funk, R&B, soul and hip-hop.
A born lyricist she writes at the drop of a note, pouring her heart and soul into every song,
willing you to laugh, cry or just have fun with her.
Her vocals are heavily influenced by the bluesy sounds of artistes such as BB King,
the raw sounds of James Brown, the totally individual sound of Louis Armstrong
and the gutsy vocals of Tina Turner. Her voice conjures up the names of many performers,
but the style is definitely all Kocoa.
