Dawn Joseph

Born in Jersey, The Channel Islands, Dawn is fast becoming one of the UKs most promising new talents. Daughter of a Jersey born Mother and a Dominican bass playing Father, Dawn was introduced to music at a young age, and it was only a matter of time that music would be her chosen path. Dawn took up piano lessons at the age of 10. That Christmas, to her delight, her parents bought her brother a ghetto blaster, and her, a Wurlitzer. A few years on, and six grades later, the Wurli went, and was replaced by an upright Yamaha.

Fast forward to the late nineties, and with the dream of a career in music still burning strong inside her, Dawn moved to London in a bid to take the music business by storm. After signing a major deal with Sony Music Publishing, shortly after her arrival, Dawn felt that as only she knew how best to showcase her songs, she would have to get into the production side of things, and so set up a studio in her North London home. It would take a while for her to find her feet, but as soon as she created the right sound, people soon started to take notice.

Travelling to Europe and The States on a regular basis, Dawn is now one the UKs top writers. She has had continued success with Major Label artists, and her previous works include, The Honeyz (Never Let You Down), Nate James (Set The Tone, Ill Decline), The Sugababes (Disturbed) and Atomic Kitten (Follow Me). As a bass player and guitarist, Dawn is also a well sort after session musician, and has played with the likes of Phil Collins, Anastacia, Louise Redknapp, Daniel Bedingfield, and for the last three years, British RnB sensation, Craig David.

2006 it has been a busy year for Dawn as a songwriter, (Van Hunt, Terry Ellis, PJ Morton, En Vogue), as she has been showcasing new material from her forthcoming album titled Song Book 1. Obvious comparisons have already been made, and Dawn has been tipped to being the UK’s answer to the likes of Mary J Blige, Alicia Keys and Faith Evans. If you don’t know about Dawn Joseph… well!
