Damion Mulrain is a free spirit where music’s concerned, spanning across many genres, Damion appreciates anything that has a feel good vibe.
Damion’s currently his main focus is on being a vocalist within a breakbeat/Drum n Bass collective called Visionary Underground based in the UK.
Damion is VU’s resident front man/vocalist. He discovered his potential at the age of 17 when he was urged to try out a local talent show and became a finalist. Since then he has been exposed to a variety of musical genres. Music has always been a focal point in his home life, a keen listener of motown, soul, reggae and gospel, clearly echoes through his gritty vocals and harmonic tones. He has worked within a four-piece group Seizons, collaborated on projects with gospel collective Seven and also producers Tranzformerz where in 2004 they were awarded Best Unsigned Act at the first ever Underground Music Awards.
At the top of 2004, Damion was introduced to Visionary Underground and it’s breakbeat style. After working on their first track “Eye Of The Storm” (VU’s now first official CD release) it soon became evident that there was a chemistry that was working and everybody had the same creative drives even though all members had started in a different musical genre. Like a sponge he has absorbed the flavour and delivered it back out in his own unique and powerful style.
Within VU, Damion adds soulful and conscious vocals that compliment the hard, grimy beats delivered by FeelFree. His vocal and lyrical contribution has added yet another dimension to the VU sound.
