A bilingual singer/songwriter/pianist and own producer, self-proclaimed proud refugee, hailing from Moscow.
Too often music is restricted to a single style where the events only cater to one type of audience. We understand that there is a need to bring together people like us who love listening tolive music & don't care so much about the genre.
The journey began years ago, when *Angelina just aged 7, then living in the former communist regime run former Soviet Union, had found an old record of Whitney Houston in her fathers collection. Growing up listening to Miles Davis, Tchaikovsky and Stevie Wonder have given *Angelina influences beyond her younger years once she started writing her own songs. *Angelinas life suddenly turned upside down once the family have immigrated to London. Winning her first singing competition when only 11, *Angelina formed a Russian girl trio along with her sister and their best friend. By the time *Angelina was 15, the girls have been able to impress the likes of Tito Jackson (Jackson 5) and Jazzie B (Soul II Soul). Once the group drifted apart, *Angelinas efforts turned to a solo path and has since never looked back.
A finalist of Trevor Nelsons Urban Award at 18 has provided a platform and an insight into the industry in UK. Eager to home her own sound and voice, *Angelina has turned back to the basics still unsigned - *Angelina has set up her own company Music Family Group Ltd.
Currently working with Drew Horley (Ty, De La Soul, Natalie Williams), Analog Kid of The Beatpeddlers (Plan B), Nutty P (Sway, Baby Blue) as well as producing herself, a first lady of Simon Webbes UK-Team. Controversial yet soulful. Honest and sincere. Painful yet truthful. A sound that is original belonging to only *Angelina. From songs ranging about a family torn apart by immigration, self-motivation anthems, heartfelt love issues and world pain identifiable to all - *Angelinas music is uplifting and challenging.
*Angelinas music possesses a strong drop back to Russian culture as well as telling a story of her life and choices. An innocent story of a little Russian girl in the chaotic big world of the West. A reflection of the times. Representing this generation of Eastern European refugees in the foreign land. This somehow makes *Angelina almost inevitably political making her almost a vital movement in the music.
